Pay Range: $20 - $25 per hour + bonuses and commissions
Job Type: Part-Time
Weekly Hours: 25 to 30 hours
Schedule: Monday to Thursday, day shift with occasional weekends
Work Location: In person (Des Moines, IA). Ability to commute or relocate required.

About the role
As a Technician I, you’ll be trained to restore high-quality front doors and support every project in meeting our standards for craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
Customer Collaboration: Collaborate with customers to understand needs and preferences
Technical and Craftsmanship Duties will include:
Disassemble door hardware: Carefully remove locks, knobs, hinges, and other hardware components
Inspect for damage and perform repairs: Assess doors for cracks, rot, or issues; repair using fillers and woodworking techniques
Strip and sand surfaces: Remove finishes and prepare wood for refinishing
Apply finishing products: Varnish, stain, or paint for a flawless professional look
Shop Safety and Organization: Keep a safe, efficient, and tidy workspace
Training and Mentorship: Assist in mentoring new hires as you grow in the role
Goal Setting and Execution: Collaborate with the General Manager to meet production goals
What you bring
Education: High school diploma or GED required
Woodworking Experience: 3–5 years, especially with finishing techniques
Technical Skills: Strong hand-eye coordination, tool proficiency, and attention to detail
Customer Service: Clear communication and a satisfaction-first mindset
Driver’s License: Required; must be able to commute or relocate
Bonus: Certificate in Woodworking Technology preferred (not required)
